Terms & Conditions
The owners have taken great care to give a true and honest representation of the properties on this website. However, there may be changes related to information on this web site which from time to time out of our control or not updated immediately. The gites featured on gite-holiday.co.uk are subject to the following terms and conditions…
Period of hire
Rental commences at 4pm on the day of arrival and terminates at 10am on the day of departure. This is important as time is required for change-over before the arrival of the next guests.
All our gites operate a no smoking policy.
Due to the possibility of some guests being allergic to pet hairs, we regret that we have a policy of not accepting any pets.
gite-holiday.co.uk operates short term holiday rentals of the properties at Les Bigoussies in France. The contract will be entered into when gite-holiday.co.uk issues a confirmation e-mail or letter and will be subject to all booking conditions.
A deposit of 20% of the booking total is payable if the booking is made more than 6 weeks before the start of the rental. The balance (plus a security deposit of £200) will be payable 6 weeks before the commencement of the rental. Non payment of the balance of the rental on or before the due date shall be deemed as a cancellation of the contract by the client. For bookings made less than 6 weeks before the commencement of the rental, the total fee and security deposit are payable at the time of the booking. All payments should be made to David & Maria Bailey and forwarded to the following address;
2 Hansom Drive
A security deposit of £200 is payable for each booking. This is fully refundable, less any charge for breakages or damage caused during the rental period.
Any cancellation for whatever reason should be made in writing to gite-holiday.co.uk. On receipt of cancellation gite-holiday.co.uk will seek to re-let the property for the period of the booking. If gite-holiday.co.uk is successful in obtaining a booking for the whole period it shall refund all monies paid at the time of cancellation less a £20 administration fee. If gite-holiday.co.uk is only able to re-let the property for part of the period cancelled, it shall refund an amount equal to the money paid less the rental for the period which is not re-let and less the administrative fee as detailed above. If gite-holiday.co.uk is unable to re-let the property for any period no refund will be due. Further, any outstanding balance due for the booking shall be deemed as payable. gite-holiday.co.uk recommends that clients should take out Holiday Insurance Cancellation cover as a precaution for unforeseen circumstances.
Changes to bookings
gite-holiday.co.uk will consider any request to change dates or cottage choice after confirmation has been issued. It reserves the right to charge an administration fee of £20 in the event a change to the booking is made.
Occupancy and use of property
The number of persons occupying the property must not exceed the maximum number as shown in the brochure or web site. In addition to the maximum occupancy one cot per property will be made available on request. The property shall be used for personal and domestic purposes only. The property shall not be used for any commercial purpose. Bookings will not be accepted for ‘Hen or Stag Parties’.
Breakages or Damage
The client is required to notify gite-holiday.co.uk in the event of any breakages or damage caused to the property or contents. gite-holiday.co.uk reserves the right to demand full payment for such breakages or damage.
Care of the Property
Clients should take all reasonable care of the property and its contents and leave them in the same state of repair and condition as at the start of the rental.
gite-holiday.co.uk and its employees shall not be liable to the client or third parties for any accident, damage, loss, injury, expense or inconvenience which may be suffered, arise out of or in any way connected with the rental. No term of Contract is enforceable under the Contracts (Rights of the Third Parties) Act 1999 by a person who is not a party to the Contract. If the property which the client has booked becomes unavailable for some reason prior to the date of booking then gite-holiday.co.uk’s obligation will be to use their best efforts to offer an alternative property or failing which the client will be reimbursed for any monies paid.
gite-holiday.co.uk does not warrant and is not responsible for the accuracy of any verbal information given or statements made by its employees or agents.

Use of the Facilities
The facilities at Les Bigoussies gites are strictly reserved for the use of clients and their immediate family and friends. Client’s guests may use the facilities only with specific approval of gite-holiday.co.uk and for which a charge may be made at its discretion. Any of the on site facilities may be withdrawn from use by gite-holiday.co.uk in the event of any circumstances which deem the facilities unsafe or present any risk to health and safety. The facilities will be withdrawn in the event of any misuse or failure to comply with rules and procedures.
The cottages at gite-holiday.co.uk have all been developed from farm buildings and clients should be aware that not all cottages will have current safety and design features. All cottages have smoke detectors, fire extinguishers and fire blankets. Pools are either fenced or alarmed in compliance with French pool regulations.
All cottages are equipped with equipment deemed necessary for the purpose of holiday accommodation. Details of fixtures and fittings are described in the Brochure. Cots, highchairs and stair gates are all available on request at no charge and requirements should be made on the booking form.
Towels and Linen
All bed linen, towels and kitchen towels are supplied, with the exception of swimming/beach towels and cot bedding.
Each cottage has its own independent boiler which supplies hot water and heating. This and the electricity supply are included in the rental. Each gite has the use of its’ own private pool and the farmhouse has a games room with a pool table.
There are no phones within the gites, but there is a mobile phone signal on site. We would therefore recommend that guests that wish to have phone contact take a mobile phone on their vacation.
